Frequently Asked Questions About BookHolds
How is the bookhold used?
Books come in all shapes and sizes. So too do people’s thumbs. It will take a little time to find the best positioning of your thumb and the bookhold within the pages you are reading. The idea, however, is to use the bookhold whilst exerting as minimal a force as possible and to let it do the work for you. You may still read a book with both hands and have the bookhold hang off your thumb for example, then bring it into use when you decide to shift to reading with one hand. How you use the bookhold is completely up to you.
What is the bookhold made of?
The bookhold is made from a high quality zinc alloy. This was chosen for its characteristic strength, durability, and resistance to corrosion. Each bookhold is also electroplated to improve resistance to oxidation.
What are the dimensions?
Each bookhold is 8cm/3.15in wide, 3.5cm/1.38in high, and 0.7cm/0.28in thick. The diameter of the thumb hole is 2cm/0.79in wide and the circumference is 6.3cm/2.47in around. They weigh approximately 50gm/1.76oz which makes them feel much more solid in your hand than bookholds of similar dimensions made of wood, acrylic or printed material.
